Taylor Swift’s team is furious, according to Page Six.
On Thursday, The Athletic, the popular sports site that isn’t known for divulging celebrity news, revealed to its readers that Swift was scheduled to attend boyfriend Travis Kelce’s NFL season opener against the Baltimore Ravens, citing “a source familiar with security arrangements at Arrowhead Stadium.”
A source told Page Six that the leak angered Swift’s collaborators.
“She has presidential-level security,” our source said. “After Austria, her security agency is not very happy that her location is known.”
In August, the CIA learned of a terrorist plot targeting Swift’s Vienna leg of her tour, forcing her to cancel three shows and placing her security team on high alert.
Our source says there is speculation the NFL team leaked the news, perhaps to attract more viewers to Thursday’s big game.
“We’ll be ready to welcome him and we’ll obviously welcome him with open arms,” Chiefs chairman Mark Donovan said in an interview with Front Office Sports about Swift’s return to his stadium this season.
“She brings a lot to the table, and it’s a very valuable and targeted demographic when you look at the makeup of her fan base,” Donovan said. “And we looked for ways to show respect to her.”
He added: “We’re not trying to capitalize on it. We’re trying to celebrate it, but it’s not about overdoing it or showing him every touchdown or anything like that.”
Swift is famous for entering one of the games through the front door, in disguise.
Back in February, Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt spoke to SiriusXM about Swift’s presence at games: “Obviously, everywhere she goes, there’s a security issue. That’s something that we’ve helped her security team deal with when she comes to games in Kansas City, and I know the visiting teams that we’ve played this year where she’s appeared have had to do the same thing.”
“She has a really talented security team,” he continued. “They liaise with our security team and we make sure she gets in and out of the stadium safely.”
During the season opener, Swift watched from a private suite with Kelce’s parents.
Later, Swift and Kelce celebrated her team’s victory at a private party at local bar Prime Social, Page Six exclusively reported.
