Taylor Swift’s 2 p.m. announcement revealed ahead of ‘TTPD’ release

Taylor Swift revealed the first single from her highly anticipated new album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” exactly 10 hours before the new album’s release.

The “Cruel Summer” singer announced Thursday afternoon that “Fortnight” — the album’s opening track featuring Post Malone — is the record’s first official single.

“I’m a huge fan of Post because of the writer he is, his musical experiments and those melodies he creates that stick in your head forever,” Swift wrote on Instagram. “I saw the magic come to life when we worked together on Fortnight.”

The 34-year-old also revealed that she and Malone, 28, will release a music video for the track on Friday at 8 p.m. ET.

Swift’s song “Fortnight,” featuring Post Malone, will be the first single from her new album, she revealed on Instagram.

In a video posted to YouTube Shorts, Swift also hinted at something called “For a Fifteen Day Challenge.” However, she did not give further details on what it is.

Fans first caught wind of the announcement on Wednesday after the pop star quietly added a countdown to her website, which was set to start at 2 p.m. EST.

Behind the clock, the page – notably titled “For a Fortnight” – featured “TTPD” as well as Swift’s lucky number, “13,” in typewriter font.

Since announcing the release of her eleventh studio album, Swift has mysteriously highlighted #2 in her promotional content.

At the 2024 Grammys, the “Anti-Hero” singer flashed a “two” with her fingers after revealing she’d been working on the record “for two years.”

Swift, the queen who gives her fans hints about her future projects called “Easter Eggs”, also used the same peace sign emoji in several of his publications on social networks These last months.

She made the announcement less than 12 hours before the release of her eleventh studio album.

After leaving the “Midnight” room, the camera entered a white office furnished with two desks and two typewriters.

A number of watches set to the same time were also on display at his Spotify pop-up store in Los Angeles, meticulously curated to reflect the album’s themes.

Since coincidences don’t exist in the Swift verse, Swifties flooded X to voice their theories on why the singer insisted on the number.

“Why both,” one fan mused. “I know she kept that for two years. Do we think there are two things being published??? A double album? Album and book? Help. I am tortured.

“I think there will be a 2 a.m. edition, just like the 3 a.m. midnight edition,” suggested another.

“The Department of Tortured Poets” comes out on Friday April 19.
