Taylor Swift Praises Eras Tour Group Following Dave Grohl’s Comments

The Foo Fighters frontman apparently lashed out at the singer, saying: “We’ve had more than a few eras, and more than a few fucking mistakes too.” Just a few. It’s because we play live.”

Saturday evening, Foo Fighters performed at London Stadium for the second night in a row as part of their Everything or Nothing at All tour. About 20 miles away, on the other side of town, Taylor Swift took the stage at Wembley Stadium for the second of three consecutive performances on the Eras tour. There’s not much overlap in these groups’ music or the audiences who attend their shows, but comments from Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl seemingly nodding to Swift put them in each other’s orbit.

“I’m telling you, man, you don’t want to take the wrath of Taylor Swift,” Grohl said on stage Saturday after the audience began booing in response to him, pointing out that the singer also had a show in the city that night. “We like to call our tour the ‘Mistakes Tour.’ We’ve had more than a few eras, and more than a few fucking mistakes too. Just a few. It’s because we play live. What? I’m just saying. You like raw, live rock’n’roll music, don’t you? You’re in the right fucking place.

On her third night at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, Swift appeared to indirectly respond to the rock legend’s comments, noting: “Every single member of my band, every single member of our team, my band that’s going to play live for you for 3.5 hours. tonight, they deserve it so much. And the same goes for each of my fellow performers. And you gave it to us so generously that we will never forget it.

This weekend’s three shows are just a portion of the performances Swift has planned in London. The singer will return to the famous venue for five more shows in August. She closed the first part with a special onstage appearance from her boyfriend Travis Kelce, while Paul McCartney danced with the enthusiastic pop fans in the audience. By comparison, Grohl’s comments don’t feature prominently in the weekend’s list of events.
