Taylor Swift donates to LA fire relief efforts: ‘So much suffering’

Taylor Swift is opening up about how she’s helping out during the devastating Los Angeles fires, and she’s encouraging her followers to do the same.

In a post shared to her Instagram Story Thursday afternoon, Swift wrote, “The fires in California have devastated so many families, and it has been heartbreaking to watch these stories unfold. So much pain, loss and destruction.

“As many people face some of the most difficult times of their lives, many extraordinary organizations and groups are coming together to help these communities rebuild,” she continued. “These are the organizations I donated to. If you feel compelled or able to donate, please do so.

Swift’s list of organizations includes 211 LA, California Community Foundation Fund, Direct Relief, Greater Los Angeles Education Foundation, Habitat For Humanity of Greater Los Angeles, Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, Los Angeles Unified School District Education Foundation Emergency. Relief Fund, MusiCares and Pasadena Educational Foundation Eaton Fire Response Fund.

Swift joins a growing chorus of celebrities donating to relief efforts, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Paris Hilton, Jamie Lee Curtis and Eva Longoria. Lady Gaga, Joni Mitchell, Katy Perry, Stevie Nicks, Sting, Billie Eilish and Finneas, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and more to perform at FireAid benefit concerts on January 30 at the Inuit Dome and Kia Forum in Los Angeles .

More than 15,000 acres have burned in Pacific Palisades and Malibu, while in Altadena, the Eaton Fire has burned more than 10,000 acres. The estimated cost of damage to Los Angeles from the fires is estimated at $250 billion and continues to rise.
