Many prices during the 67th annual grammys went exactly as planned. Of the six general categories of land that I disabled on January 6 (Monday after the final voting closure), five went while I was planning. But there were still a lot of snobs and surprises in the 94 categories (Gulp) which were presented on Sunday, February 2.
85 of these categories were presented in the afternoon during the premiere ceremony in Grammy, which was led by the singer-songwriter Justin Tranter for the second year. Just nine prices have been awarded in television, which was organized by the actor Trevor Noah for the fifth consecutive year. (These two hosts were nominated at night. Tanter was nominated for the song of the year for having co-written the Chappell Roan “good luck, baby!” Noah was nominated for the best comedy album for Where was I. They lost to Kendrick Lamar and Dave Chappelle, respectively.)
I’m going to be at the height of the general category of the fields I missed, but first, a brief mention of the five categories of general field that I did well. Beyoncé Country Project Cowboy Carter Indeed, the album of the year has won; Kendrick Lamar’s Diss’ piece “Not Like Us” took files of the year; Chappell Roan took the best new artist; Its producer, Dan Nigro, won the non -classic producer of the year; And Amy Allen won the author of the year, not classic.
And Allen made a little history of the Grammy in the process, becoming the first woman to win the singer-songwriter, not classic.
But you came here for snobs and surprises, and we have a dozen to share with you.

Snub: Taylor Swift
Swift went 0-6 this year, marking the first time that she was bleached when she had six or more nominations. However, it is difficult to consider it as a snob. Each voter knew that Swift has raised more album victories of the year than anyone in the history of Grammy. They may have simply decided to share wealth this year.

Surprise: Sierra Ferrell
Ferrell is a rising star in the world of Americana, but you probably did not think that she was heading for a balayage of four Grammy. His fourth full studio album, Trace of flowerswon the best album Americana. The opening piece of the album, “American Dreming”, won both the best performance Americana and the best song by American Roots. Another piece of the album, “Lighthouse”, won the best American Roots performance.

Snub: Billie Eilish
Eilish went 0-7 this year. Eilish and his brother Finneas lost the song of the year, that I expected what they earn for their silky ballad “Birds of a Feather”. Eilish also went 0-7 to the show in 2022. Eilish won the record of the year twice, the song of the year twice (with Finneas) and the album of the year once, not to mention Two Oscars (again with Finneas). Again, the voters may have wanted to share the wealth this year.

Surprise: resident
Resident Las letras there are no importance won the best album by Música Urbana, beating the album of Bad Bunny Billboard 200 Nadie Sabe lo that goes to Pasar Mañana. This is Bunny’s first defeat in the category, with which he won El último Tour del Mundo in 2022 and A verano sin TI in 2023.

Snub: Jack Antonoff
Antonoff went 0-6 overnight. The winner of 11 times Grammy was denied an appointment in the category he seemed to win for the fourth consecutive year – producer of the year, not classic.

Snub: André 3000
André 3000 New blue sun was nominated for the album of the year and the best alternative jazz album. Little expected what he won the album of the year, but most thought that the price of alternative jazz would need. This was not the case. Instead, the prize was awarded to Meshell Ndegeocello More water: the Gospel of James Baldwin. Ndegeocello accepted its price with a sweatshirt with “Andre 3000 in person”. André 3000 announced on Saturday that he would not attend the show. He did not declare a reason: “Unfortunately, I am unable to attend the Grammys tomorrow, but some of the new musicians, friends and supporters of Blue Sun will be present,” he wrote in a post Instagram on Saturday (February. 1).

Surprise: Rapsody with Erykah Badu
Rapsody with “3: AM” by Erykah Badu has won the best performance of melodic rap, a most frozen category would go to Beyoncé’s “spaghettii” with Linda Martell and Shaboozey. Many have learned the convincing history of Martell through Cowboy Carter – A talented singer of Black Country who was thwarted in her career in the late 1960s due to the least open attitudes of that time.

Snub: Metallica
The group won the best metal performance seven times and a lot expected them to gain again with “suicide screaming”. But the price was awarded to Gojira, Marina Viotti and Victor Le Masne for “Mea Culpa (Ah! It will be!). This is only the second time that Metallica has lost in this category. In 1996, their “for whom the bell” lost against the “happiness in slavery” of Nine Inch Nails. Gojira had a very happy new year. Last July, the group performed during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris.

Surprise: Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band
When John Legend is My favorite dream Was nominated for the best children’s music album, it was easy to think it was the game. How do you compete with an Egot? But Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band won for Brillo, brillo! It was the last proof that voters are not always influenced by the biggest name in the race. (The legend has won a Grammy for the best arrangement, instrumental or a cappella for its role in the organization of “bridge over troubled water” by Jacob necklace, on which he and Tori Kelly were presented.)

Snub: Prince and the new generation of electricity
Diamonds and pearls: Super Deluxe EditionA reissue of the group’s 1991 album was nominated for the best historical album. Many thought he could win, since Prince was chosen to receive a life production prize, which was awarded on Saturday (February 1). But no. The album lost against Centenary by the Creole jazz group of King Oliver and various artists. Diamonds and pearls I received two nominations when it was a current album – “Get off” was nominated for the best R&B performance of a duo or a group with song. “Diamonds and pearls” was nominated in the equivalent pop category.
-
Surprise: Taylor Eigsti
Eigsti Armor won the best contemporary instrumental album, beating the latest album (Rhapsody in blue) By the star of the genus Béla Fleck, who was part of a collaboration that won in the category last year. Fleck interpreted the Gershwin Classic at the first ceremony, another index that he could win.

Snober: The biggest night of pop
Jon Batiste American symphony won the best musical film, beat The biggest night of popA Netflix film on the production of “We Are the World”. This humanitarian anthem has swept four grammys, including the disc and song of the year, 39 years ago. Lionel Richie, who won the song of the year for this anthemic success (alongside Michael Jackson), was nominated here as one of the video producers.
