Streaming giant Spotify announced Saturday that megastar Taylor Swift’s latest album, The Department of Tortured Poetsbroke previous records: it is the first album in Spotify history to have more than 300 million streams in a single day.

Tortured poets reached this record on its release day last Friday. At the same time, Swift also became the most streamed artist in a single day on Spotify – and the album’s first track, “Fortnight”, which also features Post Malone as a singer, became the most streamed song listened to from Spotify as a single single. day. (As of Monday morning, “Fortnight” alone had garnered nearly 40 million streams.)

Swift’s sprawling, autobiographical 11th album was initially released as 16 songs Friday at midnight. In two hours, however, Swift released 15 additional tracks under the name “The Anthology,” writing on Instagram: “It’s a 2 a.m. surprise: The Tortured Poets Department is a DOUBLE secret album.”

Swift broke her own single-day album streaming records with Tortured poets and now holds the top three spots on this record: his new project only surpassed his 2022 album Midnights And 1989 (Taylor version)released in 2023.
