The annual food festival held its competition on Saturday. Visitors will also be able to taste the winners’ dishes on Sunday.
BUFFALO, NY — People filled Niagara Square and downtown Buffalo Saturday, ready to sample some of the best food and drink in Western New York at Taste of Buffalo.
Among those with big appetites were more than 60 judges, who had the enviable task of trying different dishes to determine the best elements of the two-day event.

This year’s Taste of Buffalo winners include:
- President’s Choice (chosen by Tom Mahoney, Taste of Buffalo 2024 President): DA Taste — Dom’s Taco
- Kids’ Choice (chosen by Claire and Esme Mahoney, daughters of the 2024 Tasting Jury Chair): Golden Hour Treats — Nutella Me Crazy Waffle
- Louis J. Billittier Sr. Rookie of the Year Award: Carrubba’s Chicken Pit
- Veteran Restaurant Winner: Sidelines Sports Bar & Grill
- Eric DuVall Memorial Best of Buffalo Contest Winner: Resurgence Brewing Company
- Best Overall: Dirty Bird Chicken N’ Waffles LLC — Fried Cauliflower Taco
- Best Surf or Turf Dish: BW’s Barbecue — Smoked Jerk Chicken Wings
- Best Dessert: Fat Lady’s Cakes & Pies — Award-Winning Sweet Potato Pie Cupcake
- Best Handheld Device: Stack Burger — Stack Burger
- Best Red Wine: A Gust of Sun Winery — Pinot Noir
- Best White Wine: Victorianbourg Wine — Estate Pechette
- Favorite Fermentation: Three Brothers Winery & Estate — Cabernet Franc Rosé
The jury represented local media, politicians, business and community development sectors.
There is still time for people to taste this year’s winners. The festival runs until 9pm on Saturday and from 11am to 7pm on Sunday.
