Target in Buena Park evacuated after fire at children’s department

Employees and customers at a Target store in Buena Park were evacuated Tuesday night after a fire broke out in the store.
At approximately 7:15 p.m., firefighters from the Orange County Fire Authority and Anaheim Fire & Rescue responded to the target at 7530 Orangethorpe Ave. Upon arrival, first responders found a light haze of smoke from the fire, which had been extinguished by the sprinkler. system inside,” OCFA Battalion Chief Erik Miranda told OnScene TV in an interview.
Video footage from OnScene.TV shows flames shooting towards the ceiling from a clothes rack inside the children’s section, where several items were later found burned. The video also shows an individual trying to extinguish the flames with a fire extinguisher.
No injuries were reported. The causes of the fire were under investigation and the store remained closed after the fire.
