Tampa woman who posed as a teenager, molested a boy and is accused of other child sex crimes: police

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A woman accused of posing as a homeschooled teenager and molesting a boy she met online has been charged with additional child sex crimes.

Alyssa Zinger, 23, was arrested again Thursday, according to Hillsborough County Jail records.

The Tampa Police Department said detectives have identified additional victims linked to Zinger’s online activity. The agency was notified of Zinger’s alleged “inappropriate relationship” with a child on October 19, 2023.

Prosecutor Suzy Lopez told 8 On Your Side the suspect had four additional victims.

“The victims in this case are all between the ages of 12 and 15 and they are in middle school themselves,” Lopez said.

Zinger was initially accused of posing as a 14-year-old student at home when she met the boy on social media. The first victim was identified by police as a middle school student between the ages of 12 and 15, according to a TPD arrest report.

She was also accused of sending child exploitation material involving the victim and another middle school student to several other children on Snapchat. According to the arrest report, Zinger and the middle school student engaged in sexual activity approximately 30 times, as reported by the victim.

He also said Zinger told him she had molested other boys ages 13 to 15, detectives said.

At the time of Zinger’s first arrest, she was charged with two counts of lewd or lascivious battery and five counts of lewd or lascivious assault. His second arrest was for two counts of lewd or lascivious assault (victim 12-15), two counts of lewd or lascivious battery, possession of child pornography, in-state transmission of child pornography by electronic device and sexual cyberharassment.

Zinger’s most recent charges in this case are:

• Two counts of lewd or lascivious molestation

• Two counts of lewd or lascivious battery

• Possession of child pornography

• In-State Transmission of Child Pornography by Electronic Device

• Sexual cyberharassment

Zinger made his first court appearance Friday. She is due back for a preliminary hearing Monday.
