Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin on his son Udhayanidhi’s remark on ‘Sanatan Dharma’ – Firstpost

The Dravida Munnetra Kazgham (DMK) president said, “He expressed his views on the principles of Sanatan which discriminate against Scheduled Castes, Tribes and women, without intending to offend any religion or religious belief. »

Breaking the silence on his son Udhayanidhi Stalin’s remark on ‘Sanatan Dharma’, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin issued a statement saying that Stalin junior “did not intend to hurt any religion or religious belief”.

The Dravida Munnetra Kazgham (DMK) president said, “He expressed his views on the principles of Sanatan which discriminate against Scheduled Castes, Tribes and women, without intending to offend any religion or religious belief. »

“Pro-BJP forces are unable to tolerate his stance against oppressive principles and have spread a false narrative, alleging that ‘Udhayanidhi called for genocide of people with Sanatan thoughts’,” he added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said Stalin’s remark on Sanatan Dharma “needs a befitting response”.

Government sources said that Prime Minister Modi, while addressing a cabinet meeting ahead of the G20 summit in New Delhi, told his party leaders that they must counter the comments of Udhayanidhi Stalin, but advised his party leaders to “stick to the facts in accordance with the Constitution.”

Responding to this, Stalin said, “It is disheartening to hear in the national media that the Prime Minister mentioned that Udhayanidhi’s remarks required a befitting response at a meeting of his council of ministers. The Prime Minister has access to all resources to verify any claim or report. So, is the Prime Minister speaking unaware of the lies being spread about Udhayanidhi, or is he doing so knowingly?

Meanwhile, Udhayanidhi Stalin on Thursday accused the saffron party leaders of “distorting” his statements and vowed to respond legally to all cases in this regard.

He also launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling him a “globetrotter”, fearing he would face questions over the Manipur violence.
