talkSPORT betting tips – Best golf bets and expert advice for LIV Golf Miami

The LIV Tour returns to the United States this week, with Jon Rahm and the rest of those linked to the Saudi-funded separatist tour teeing off at LIV Golf Miami.

Most of the talk in the golf world is focused on next week’s Masters – the first Major of the season – and 13 players competing at LIV Golf Miami will soon be bound for Augusta National.

Bryson DeChambeau, Sergio Garcia, Tyrrell Hatton, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Adrian Meronk, Phil Mickelson Joaquin Niemann, Jon Rahm, Patrick Reed, Charl Schwartzel, Cameron Smith and Bubba Watson will all play LIV Golf Miami before heading north in Georgia for masters.

We analyzed LIV Golf Miami and selected two players who could be the main contenders for glory at Trump National Doral Golf Club. The 7,701 yard par 72 course hosted a PGA Tour event for many years, before hosting the WGC-Cadillac Championship from 2007 to 2016.

In the previous two years, the LIV golf season concluded with the LIV Team Championship at Trump National. Rahm, who is 6/1 to win this week, has never competed at Trump National. The 29-year-old is seeking a first LIV Golf title.

LIV Golf Miami Tips

  • Dustin Johnson will win and each way @ 14/1
  • Bryson DeChambeau will win and each way @ 10/1

Dustin Johnson will win and each way @ 14/1

LIV Golf Miami appears to be a golden opportunity for Dustin Johnson to remind the world that he is a huge threat to the Masters. The former world number one could be close to winning both events.

Johnson won the last LIV tournament held in America – LIV Las Vegas – then didn’t play as poorly as the results suggested in Jeddah and Hong Kong. An icy putter in Jeddah spoiled a strong approach game, while the Hong Kong Golf Club is an unusual venue where DJ has little experience.

The 39-year-old lives in Florida and is familiar with Trump National. The course was redesigned by Gil Hanse before the 2014 WGC-Cadillac Championship, then Johnson finished fourth, first and 14th in the next three Cadillac Championships.

Johnson also led his 4 Aces team to victory in the inaugural LIV Golf Team Championship in 2022, so he has won a trophy twice at Trump National.

LIV Golf Miami: Bryson DeChambeau will win and each way @ 10/1

Bryson DeChambeau, who won the US Open in 2020 and knows he can be a threat in major competitions, is another American powerhouse who will be convinced he could be in for a fabulous fortnight.

DeChambeau mastered another Florida track – Bay Hill – when he won his last PGA Tour title in 2021. The confident Californian has won twice on the LIV Tour since leaving the PGA Tour and he could easily score a hat-trick in Doral.

Fourth place at LIV Jeddah was a positive sign for DeChambeau fans, while seventh place at Hong Kong was a decent effort on an unsuitable track. Self-belief floods the great Bryson’s veins just in time for Majors season.

DeChambeau led his Crushers team to victory in the LIV Golf Miami Team Championship at Trump National last year.
