talkSPORT betting tips – Best football bets and expert advice for Tuesday 2 April

A midweek round of Premier League fixtures offers tasty betting opportunities on Tuesday, with Burnley attempting to add to Wolves’ recent woes and Nottingham Forest fearing an in-form Fulham striker.

And there’s a huge fight between League One’s top two to savor where a Portsmouth player’s gift for goals against Derby could mean history repeats itself.

The bet of the day

Burnley will beat Wolves @ 17/10

At Turf Moor, Burnley will look to extend their three-match unbeaten run by hosting a Wolves side who could falter for the first time this season.

The Clarets were magnificent at Chelsea on Saturday and are finally looking to put together a run that could see them out of the bottom three.

They face fellow relegation candidates Everton and Sheffield United in April, so the importance of maintaining momentum will not be lost on Vincent Kompany.

The Belgian boss will be in the stands for this one, as will right-back Lorenz Assignon whose red card after a light penalty prompted Kompany to blow his top at the officials.

But Charlie Taylor has strengthened Burnley’s backline after coming off the bench at that time and the return of David Datro Fofana, on loan at Chelsea again eligible, will add more power to the hosts’ attack.

Wolves are currently lacking a head start with so many important attacking players in the treatment room and there are few signs they will be feeling more sorry for themselves after the FA Cup quarter-final defeat last month against Coventry.

Gary O’Neil revealed his side’s xG (expected goals) stats following Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa and, as we’ve seen with Sean Dyche and Erik ten Hag this season, managers only do it when they know they don’t have the answers.

Special of the day

Fulham will beat Nottingham Forest and Rodrigo Muniz will score at 27/10

Fulham will be feeling good about themselves after coming back from 3-1 down to pick up a point at Bramall Lane on Saturday and they can also be sure of getting something out of Tuesday’s trip to the City Ground.

Nottingham Forest have lost seven of their last 10 home Premier League games and finished second behind Crystal Palace in Saturday’s 1-1 draw.

Slow starts were a problem for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, who have not won since mid-February and could have been three goals behind before equalizing thanks to Chris Wood’s deft header.

It was the 17th time this season they have fallen behind 1-0 and that could prove fatal against a Marco Silva-led side who have won 11 out of 14 and only lost once when taking the lead .

Fulham, who have won on their last four visits to the City Ground, currently have one of the most in-form strikers in the top flight in their ranks, with Rodrigo Muniz having scored eight goals in his last eight games.

His latest effort, the acrobatic scissor kick that earned Fulham a 3-3 draw against Sheffield United, might be the best of his career and only underlines why he might be the most decisive player on the pitch from Nottingham.

Long photo of the day

Colby Bishop to score in 1-1 draw between Portsmouth and Derby County @ 20/1

The top two face off in League One, with leaders Portsmouth looking to extend the five-point advantage they currently enjoy over second-placed Derby.

A special atmosphere is guaranteed under the lights and in front of the Sky Sports cameras at Fratton Park, but the match means a little more to Colby Bishop, Pompey’s top scorer with 18 goals.

Born in Nottingham, he grew up a Forest fan and would be more than happy to do further damage to the East Midlanders’ promotion hopes.

Bishop scored Pompey’s 95th-minute equalizer at Pride Park earlier this season and scored when the sides drew in the league last April.

Both of those matches ended 1-1 and with the teams finding it so hard to separate themselves in terms of form heading into this clash, it might be worth arguing that history is repeating itself.
