Take out your wallets! Liz Truss joins the speaking circuit – POLITICO

LONDON – How much would you pay for a motivational speech from Liz Truss?
The UK’s shortest prime minister has pledged to a top agency in the UK – and is ready to offer insight into the ‘status quo’ that has brought her down.
Truss, who spent 49 days in the role but quit after market turmoil sparked by a series of controversial tax cuts, is now on the books at Chartwell Speakers, pitching ideas on ‘leadership’, ‘the economy” and more.
A biography uploaded to the site acknowledges the “momentous and tumultuous” time Truss faced, which included not only the market rout, but the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
And it gives a somewhat unique view of the fate of Truss’ “Plan for Growth” and his “roundup of tax cuts to kick-start economic growth”.
Truss, the biography says, “faced enormous resistance from those who wanted to maintain the status quo and came to the conclusion that she could not fulfill the term for which she was elected and therefore resigned. “.
Truss is by no means the first of the recent group of former UK prime ministers to join the speaking circuit.
Former Prime Minister Theresa May, who herself came under pressure to step down after failing to win support for her Brexit plans, earned more than £1.86million in her first two years after returning to the backbench. She received more than £127,000 ($150,000) for a speech alone in Florida last year.
Boris Johnson, who left office last September after a series of scandals, has already been paid £276,130 for a speech to the Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers in Washington.
