A large yacht that caught fire in Sydney Harbor has been extinguished.
Fire and Rescue NSW crews responded to a triple 0 call at Birkenhead Marina after large plumes of black smoke were seen billowing from a drifting yacht at 10.06am on Saturday.
Five trucks and 18 firefighters were sent to the scene just outside Drummoyne where they arrived at 10.12am and quickly worked to put out the flames.
Witnesses reported that the thick smoke was visible for several kilometers around the port.
A marina employee who suffered from smoke inhalation was treated by paramedics on scene and has since been given the all-clear.

Black smoke was billowing from the ruined yacht which was parked just off Drummoyne, near Birkenhead Marina, when it caught fire at around 10am.
Two fire crews were sent into the water to tackle the boat at close range, one on a NSW Ports Authority tugboat and the others on a police vessel.
Three more handlines were deployed from the shore to extinguish the flames.
Crews brought the fire under control by 11 a.m. before moving the yacht to the west side of the marina to fully extinguish it.
Hazardous materials technicians should inspect the boat once there is no longer a threat on board.
There was no one on the yacht at the time the fire broke out and it is unclear whether its owners were present at the marina when the fire broke out.
