Nintendo has made great efforts to ensure that the new GameChat feature of Switch 2 is a safe experience for everyone, but it does not block everything.
Players report the new feature Effective transcription of their conversations With the word and text function and some are somewhat shocked to see naughty and offensive words are not really censored. As Gamesradar + confirms it, you can abandon a “F Bomb” and the system has no problem relaying it in writing:
“Our own Rollin Bishop, who took his own switch 2 and spent a little time curse him that to find him displayed these words.
Although this has surprised some players by surprise, accessibility features and text speech are always a welcome addition to the video game space. Game journalist and accessibility critic Laura Kate Dale nicknamed on social networks Call this an “accessibility victory for people with disabilities” because it is not censored “by default” as it appears on certain other platforms:
“Excellent news! The option of transcribing the word to Text in Switch 2 GameChat, where you see a transcription of your cat with friends, do not censor the juron by default.”
If you want to see what is said in written form while you chat online with friends and family, you can activate text speech via switch accessibility settings 2.
This is not the first time that something like it has been the headlines on the Nintendo front – with the company Update of the “bad words” list of the switch in firmware updates. Earlier this year, Nintendo of America also joined the cross effort known as “Accessible Games Initiative” As a founding member.
