It has been three days since Swati Maliwal accused Bibhav Kumar, close aide of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, of assaulting her. Although the Aam Aadmi Party has admitted to attacking Maliwal, there has been no official word from Kejriwal yet.

Amidst all this, a new video has surfaced online and sparked controversy. The video, widely shared by BJP leaders and others on X, shows Kejriwal with Bibhav Kumar at the Lucknow airport. AAP leader Sanjay Singh can also be seen in the video.

What was Kumar doing with Kejriwal?

The video is from Wednesday evening, when the Delhi CM arrived at the Lucknow airport to hold rallies in Uttar Pradesh for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

Kumar would accompany Kejriwal during his trip.

Kejriwal and Samajwadi Party’s Akhilesh Yadav held a joint press conference in Lucknow for the INDIA bloc on Thursday.

When asked about Swati Maliwal, Kejriwal evaded the question and instead, Sanjay Singh responded by saying that the saffron party should first speak out on the cases of Manipur, JD(S) leader Prajwal Revanna and women wrestlers .

BJP denounces “double standards”

The BJP, which demanded Kejriwal’s resignation for remaining silent on Rajya Sabha MP Maliwal’s assault case, slammed the Aam Aadmi Party for not taking any action in the matter.

BJP leader Tajinder Bagga said, “Sanjay Singh ji was saying that you would take strict action against Bibhav, but you started taking him all over the country. »

The case so far

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday admitted that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s former personal aide Bibhav Kumar “misbehaved” with Rajya Sabha MP and former Commission chief Swati Maliwal Delhi Women’s Association (DCW).

Addressing a press conference, AAP leader Sanjay Singh said, “Yesterday, a condemnable incident took place. Swati Maliwal had gone to Arvind Kejriwal’s residence to meet him. While she was waiting for him in the living room, Vaibhav Kumar allegedly misbehaved with her. The CM has taken cognizance of the matter and will take appropriate action.

Delhi Police on Monday said they received a PCR call from Maliwal, alleging that she was assaulted by Kumar at the chief minister’s residence in Civil Lines.

Meanwhile, Maliwal’s ex-husband Naveen Jaihind said his life was in danger.

Who is Bibhav Kumar?

This is not the first time that Bibhav Kumar has made headlines. Earlier this year, Kumar was sacked as Kejriwal’s private secretary after the Vigilance Directorate termed his appointment “illegal”.

Kumar was also questioned by the Enforcement Directorate in April over the Delhi excise scam that saw Kejriwal jailed in Tihar for 50 days before being released on bail last week .
