Suspected gunman’s wife, two children among five people killed in Bibb County mass shooting

Brandon Kendrick, 32, of West Blocton, is charged with five counts of capital murder following a shooting on July 18, 2024.

The Alabama Enforcement Agency (ALEA) said Kendrick is accused of shooting a two-year-old, two six-year-olds, a nine-year-old and his 24-year-old wife, Kelsey Kendrick. Two of the four children were Kendrick’s children and the other two were relatives.

The shooting happened around 10 p.m. in the 1000 block of Greentree Drive in West Blocton.

Kendrick is being held in the Bibb County Jail without bail.
