HOUSTON — Three Houston police officers were shot following a possible police pursuit, and the suspect was taken into custody after an hour-long standoff Thursday, officials said.

According to KSAT’s sister website, Click2Houston.com, sources identified the suspect as 31-year-old Roland Caballero.

The shooting reportedly took place near the downtown space near the 2100 block of McGowen Street. Houston police say the suspect fled the scene after hijacking someone in a white Mercedes.

The suspect then led officers to a house in the 1800 block of Lockwood, where negotiators worked to get the barricaded man out, but he continued to shoot officers, in line with police.

Click2Houston.com reported that officers shot the suspect again. However, it is not known if the suspect was hit.

One of the officers was transported by ambulance to Memorial Hermann Hospital at Texas Medical Center while the other two were transported by HPD. The three officers are in a stable situation, in line with the officials. Mayor Sylvester Turner said one officer was shot in the foot, another in the leg and the third in the arm, Click2Houston.com reported.

In a tweet, Andy Kahan of Houston Crime Stoppers wrote that the suspect was wanted for aggravated robbery with a lethal weapon and unlawful possession of a weapon with a felony conviction.

Cpl. Charles Galloway, 47, a 12-year veteran with Precinct 5, died early Sunday after trying to arrest visitors to the site. Houston Police Chief Troy Finner said the motive force pulled out of the car and immediately fired shots at Galloway and his patrol car.

The suspect, Oscar Rosales, 51, was discovered Wednesday in Ciudad Acuna, along the US-Mexico border from Del Rio, KPRC, KSAT’s sister station in Houston, reported.
