Walnut Creek – A 54 -year -old Livermore man was arrested for suspicion of having stolen a bank on Thursday in Walnut Creek, police announced.
The flight took place shortly after 12:30 p.m. in the Chase Bank branch located at 1390 South Main St., the Walnut Creek police department announced in a press release.
The police arrived at the scene a few minutes later and learned that the suspect had transmitted a note to a cashier demanding money, police said. He left for a vehicle after receiving an unknown sum.
No weapon was used during the flight, the police said.
At 1:07 p.m., the police arrested the vehicle on the Olympic boulevard and identified the driver as the man who stole the bank, police said. The money stolen during the flight was also recovered.
The man was arrested and reserved in the Martinez detention center on theft accusation.
