“Superman: Escape from Krypton” of six flags Magic Mountain, once among the fastest and highest roller coaster in the world, took its last flight.
The journey, which was closed for the interview last September, will be closed permanently, said park officials at the Orange County Register.
The theme park did not immediately respond to requests for Times comments on Friday.
Named “Superman: The Escape”, the Russian mountains established speed and height records when it made its debut in 1997 – splitting the runners up at a maximum speed of 100 MPH before sending them back to a project almost 415 feet where they experienced 6.5 seconds of weightlessness, according to Theme Park website.
In 2011, the coaster was dreaded “Superman: Escape from Krypton” and redesigned to make the trip terribly exhilarating behind.
“You are about to draw from 0 to 100 miles per hour in seven seconds flat – conversely,” said the Six Flags website. “This speed and record acceleration have never been done before in a sensation race, and even less upside down.”
The president of Magic Mountain, Jeff Harris, told the OC register that the park had initially hoped to reopen the ride, but the supply of replacement parts for the aging roller coaster had proven prohibitive.
“Like the other roller coaster mountains in the themed park industry, there is a life cycle with these acquired mountains,” Harris told the register. “There is just a moment when we have to make a wise decision on the place where we should really reinvest the funds that improve customer experience the most. It just doesn’t have much sense from a commercial point of view to give it to Superman.”
“Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom” A stroll that is attached to the driving of Superman and which hoists 40 floors visitors before putting them on earth, is currently under maintenance and planned to reopen in April, said Harris.
The end of Superman’s line encountered a sorrow of addrenaline drug addicts.
“Saying that they have on parents and their children apply here:” You never know when it is the last time you can hold your child in your arms “, wrote a user on Reddit. “The same goes for these rides when they renovate and the same for Superman. I loved Superman … I never knew that the last time I went up, it would be the last time.”
While the extreme led a solid base of fans, it also experienced technical challenges and several prolonged closing periods. Some of them were linked to the linear synchronous engine launch system which allowed the driving to reach 100 MPH.
Currently, the fastest roller coaster in the world are the Rossa formula in Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi, which opened in 2010 and has a top speed of 149.1 MPH.
Six flags Magic Mountain is now at 19 roller coaster mountains, but the Valencia theme park has a new suspended motorcycle ride which should open its doors in 2026.
