Phoenix – After knowing where we were heading for a long time, the Phoenix Suns are one day to get to eliminate after a 133-95 defeat against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday.
These are now seven consecutive defeats for the Suns, and the last four have had inevitable energy despite variable size tracks for the opposition.
This was a real eruption. The Warriors have increased two-digit by less than six minutes and extended their advance to 26 at halftime.
“As you said, there is no answer for that, there are no words for that – nothing I can say can really make it better,” said goalkeeper of the Suns Devin Booker about the loss.
Without coincidence, Kevin Durant (left the ankle range) missed his fourth consecutive match and head coach Mike Budenholzer said that it took a “big jump” to play on Wednesday against Oklahoma City Thunder.
This is important for several reasons.
First, Phoenix is eliminated by one more defeat or a victory by Dallas Mavericks. The season probably ends that night, especially if during is absent. Second, during the other must play in three other games to qualify for All-NBA. There are three games left in the season.
Golden State has now been 22-6 since the acquisition of Jimmy Butler, who made him known by various channels that Phoenix was his favorite destination. The Suns certainly tried to do it, at some point, even being part of the talks, before nothing materializes.
It naturally presents the “What if?” Question, and although Butler would have made a considerable difference for the Suns, which they lack completely at the moment is what Golden State has cemented for a decade.
“They have built a culture and an environment that they have supported for a long time – they expect nothing less than a championship and to understand what is going on in there,” said Booker about the Warriors. “It showed.”
The culture, identity and style of play of the Warriors were revived by Butler. The ignition wood and the sticks were all installed while waiting for someone to light it, while Phoenix does not even know where to look for the materials to start this fire.
This gigantic gap is the reason why the Warriors won this match so comfortably. Not because they have more talent.
Stephen Curry was kind enough to present a little show for the many Warriors fans present, contributing 25 points, nine rebounds and six assists in 26 minutes. Brandin Podziemski added 22 points in 22 minutes.
