Average high temperatures in the Chicago area in April are between 50 and 60 degrees, but that certainly wasn’t the case on Friday as bouts of rain and snow fell during the evening.
But the mixed precipitation will stop overnight before much more comfortable conditions this weekend.
The sun will arrive on Saturday, accompanied by a jump in temperature, according to meteorologists from the NBC 5 Storm team. Highs in the low to mid 40s are expected which for some will be a welcome change, but still cooler than usual for this time of year.
The spring weather that many have been waiting for will arrive on Sunday, and you’ll want to take advantage of it while it lasts. Pleasant conditions and sunshine will settle in throughout the region, along with temperatures in the mid-50s.
But Sunday will not be all clear.
A few showers and even thunderstorms are possible in the evening, according to forecasters.
After that be prepared to see rain for a while.
