New Delhi: Britain’s new Prime Minister Rishi Sunak reappointed Suella Braverman as Home Secretary on Tuesday in a cabinet reshuffle.

Notably, Braverman’s resignation from the same position precipitated the downfall of Liz Truss. During his time under former Prime Minister Truss, Braverman made a controversial remark that “Indian migrants stay in the UK too long”.

Braverman, of Indian descent, is another Bexiteer like Sunak. It remains to be seen how his tough stance on immigration will play out in the new Cabinet after his remarks on Indian visa overruns caused a lot of damage to the ongoing free trade agreement (FTA) talks between India and the UK.
