‘Suits’ Cast Teases Possible Reunion Movie, Shares Their Hopes for Expanding the Show’s Universe (Exclusive)

A Suits The reunion movie may take place in the future, but some things need to happen first.

While chatting with ET’s Cassie DiLaura about the show’s reunion panel at the ATX TV Festival in Austin, Texas, on Sunday, Patrick J. Adams, Sarah RaffertyAmanda Schull and Dulé Hill opened up about whether or not fans might return to the Litt Wheeler Williams Bennett law firm anytime soon.

“Honestly, I think it wouldn’t surprise me if they did a model where you end up having a certain type of movie,” Hill — who played Season 7 addition Alex Williams — told ET, adding that he could see a potential project. or a movie on Peacock for the show. Hill, 49, knows a thing or two about his other major USA Network show, Psychhas had three follow-up films on the NBCUniversal-owned streamer.

“Oh my God, we would have so much fun,” added Rafferty, 51, one of the original cast members of the nine-season courtroom procedural. The actress played Donna, Harvey Specter’s Spitfire legal secretary (Gabriel Macht) and future CEO of the law firm – and wife of Harvey.

“That would be great,” Hill replied. “I mean, I’ll just put this out there.”

Adams, 42, quickly gave his own take on the possibility, telling ET that while it’s not out of the question, the stars need to align at the right time for the cast, crew and creator Aaron Korsh, who is currently working hard to create the pilot season Costumes: LA, a spin-off in the same universe.

“I don’t want to speak for Aaron, but his motivation is always the story, and if he stays there and comes up with something that really excites him – whether it’s with these characters or new characters as Costumes: LA — then when he gets excited about something, something big happens,” shared the actor – best known for playing Mike Ross on the series.

He added: “That’s how our show went and that’s how Costumes: LA happened. So I know from him that he’s excited about the idea of some sort of film format for us, but, you know, I think his main job is to Costumes: LA off the ground for the moment.”

As for whether or not they would consider appearing in the spinoff, the cast members all agreed that if Korsh called, they would pick up the phone and get back into costume.

During the panel, Adams further commented on the millions of fans (no exaggeration) hoping to get a Suits film, responding to an audience member’s question, he replied: “It will depend on a million things whether it can happen, but it’s possible.”

That’s it for you guys. Officials have heard the calls and seen the petitions. It would be hard to miss as the show was actually the most streamed show of 2023.

The original show — which also featured Gina TorresRick Hoffman, Katherine Heigl And Meghan Markle – ended in September 2019 after eight years of broadcast on USA Network. He followed a group of lawyers, paralegals and other players in the field on a daily basis in a firm based in New York. The problem – at least for the first few seasons – was that Adams’ character, Mike, was not a real lawyer, but a college dropout who had impressed Harvey with his extensive legal knowledge in the first episode.

Markle, 42, played Rachel Zane, a paralegal-turned-lawyer who fell in love with Mike early on in the series. She finally left Suits alongside Adams at the end of season 7, largely due to his marriage Prince Harry in May 2018 – a wedding for many the actors were present. While Adams returned as a special guest in the final season, the Duchess of Sussex did not. It is unknown if she would return for future projects given the withdraw from royal duties which she and her husband, 39, took in 2020.

For fans hoping to see a sequel to the original Suits In this story, the gang said they were more than willing to reprise their characters if a network was willing to put them back on the air in a Litt Wheeler Williams Bennett series.

“Let’s start a petition,” said Schull, 45, who played the role of Katrina Bennett.

“I think first (we) need to have Costumes: LA will be a success and they will be looking for more,” Hill replied. “If Costumes: LA is a success, so I’m sure there will probably be (further spinoffs).”

When asked who would be willing to continue telling the show’s story, they each said yes. Five years after the series ended, the actors say they think there are definitely more stories — and more crazy experiences — their characters could have together.

“Absolutely,” Adams said. “We really like each other and get along really well.”

“I’m always down to tell stories,” Hill added, to which Rafferty replied, “I’d love to.”

Adams also joked about the possibility of a Suits spin-off in Seattle – where his character and Markle ended up – and said it could be fun to explore that area, perhaps even bringing in Edward Darby, the international lawyer played by Game Of Thrones former Conleth Hill.

Although he said the Darby bit might not work, he would love to explore more with Mike, potentially in the Pacific Northwest.

“I don’t think there are enough shows set in Seattle. I think we could really exploit that,” Adams said, adding that his on-screen wife (Markle) probably wouldn’t be in it. “I think she might be busy.”

But everyone is on board. They agreed that as life goes on, they haven’t stayed in touch as much as they would like. A follow-up project could therefore be the perfect opportunity to reconnect outside of the group chat, which the actors chose. I already spoke to ET about.

While waiting for Korsh to be ready to make a film, Adams and Rafferty found a way to reconnect while engaging fans in the form of a conversation. goodbye watch the podcast!

Earlier this year, the announced pair they would get together (and bring some amazing guests along the way) to watch the show together for Sidebar: A Suits Watch podcast, Who go break down every episode and give fans behind-the-scenes secrets on SiriusXM.

“Everyone’s all over the place, but luckily Sarah and I spent quite a bit of time together working on this podcast – a watch podcast,” Adams told ET on Sunday, clarifying that they had never seen the broadcast in complete.

For them, that means bringing in prop artists, casting directors, and more people who worked on the show to provide a complete view of how it all came to be. Of course, they will also use some of their time to speak with fans and answer questions, which they say is imperative.

“We really want to hear from them because I think part of the inspiration for doing this podcast was (fan interest) during the resurgence,” Rafferty said of the series, which has not No release date yet, but it’s about to be released. later this year, SiriusXM has already shared.

“We can sit here and be the faces of the thing – there are 152 people who made this show what it is,” Adams added. “I think we’re really excited to bring them on board and introduce them so they can understand what goes into creating a show because it’s such a crazy circus.”

The conversation with ET took place the same day Netflix announced that five years after the series’ finale, the ninth and final season will start broadcasting July 1st. Seasons 1 to 8 are currently available and have been since 2023. In total, more than 57.5 billion minutes of Suits were watched in 2023.
