South Sudan obtained its independence from Sudan in 2011 after years of conflict, but ethnic divisions plunged the country into the civil war in 2013.
Meanwhile, in Sudan, the army resumed the presidential palace in Khartoum, marking a significant victory against the paramilitary forces of rapid support (RSF) in the current civil war.
The Minister of Sudan Information, Khaled al-Baiser, confirmed the success of the soldiers, declaring that the flag was raised, the palace is back and that the trip continues until the end of the victory.
The conflict in Sudan has been described by the head of the United Nations agency for children and the world’s greatest humanitarian crisis.
Tens of thousands have been killed, moved millions and famine forced some families to eat grass to survive.
The crisis comes from years of instability after the 2019 avoidation of the longtime autocratic president Omar al-Bashir.
A brief transition to democracy was derailed in 2021 by a military coup headed by General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo. By 2023, tensions have turned into large -scale fights between the Sudanese army and the RSF.
The two parties faced allegations of human rights violations throughout the war.
