Strictly Come Dancing 2021: Week One – Live | TV & radio
Ooh, pro dance as a bonus, to a noodling John Lewis version of Vanessa Carlton’s A Thousand Miles.
Gorka looks lovely in a cardigan and the Strictly wobbly floor lamp made her first appearance this season. It’s not about bingo, but drink it anyway.
How beautiful is this dance? Maybe this is the year I fall in love with barefoot contempo-waft.
Here we go ! It’s time for a cranky idle VT. An incredible journey awaits them and nothing can prepare them for what is to come. Other than watching the previous 18 series of Strictly, maybe.
Well, this is all quite tingling inducing, isn’t it? AND we see the opening credits for the first time. Get used to this, we have MONTHS to come.
Tonight’s Strictly Come Bingo – take a sip of your hard-earned can of Premium Unleaded if you spot any of the following:
Anton says ‘wonderful’
Craig saying “in wood”
Choices of songs that make an oblique and tenuous reference to the profession of celebrity
A celebrity smashed him in the first week, scoring an eights, canceling any potential trips and making sure they didn’t win despite being clearly the best dancer.
On the plus side, my support team for the live blog for the evening are Elizabeth (12), Geneviève (8) and Rhiannon (5), which I hope will add new excitement to my twists and turns. tired middle-aged.
And as a bonus, the father of these fabulous daughters is Richard The Builder from Bake Off 2014, so tonight’s snack lineup is exceptional. Maybe I’ll post pictures on Twitter later – you can find me @heidistephens.
By the way, tonight’s liveblog comes to you from a friends house in West Sussex, so rather than my usual monastic isolation, I’m in the company of two adults, three children and a dog called Steve. If you have any suggestions for a more chaotic environment that is less conducive to watching TV and writing at the same time, feel free to challenge me for a week to come. An A&E waiting room, maybe, or the middle lane of the M6.
Good evening everyone and welcome to this week’s Strictly Come Dancing! It’s officially week one, which means we’re seeing our newly formed couples strutting the Strictly dance floor properly for the very first time. There will be scores from the judges, but no one will be coming home this weekend – all scores will carry over to next week. So it’s absolutely worth our celebs to do their best, but they don’t have to overdo it and roll their ankles – they are safe for at least another week.
As usual, I’ll sprinkle some sparkle on the debates here, and would love if you add a little more wit and wisdom in the comment box below. This liveblog is a team effort, so don’t hesitate to get involved. Kicks off at 7 p.m. and tonight’s show is two hours 20 minutes (eek), so stock up on snacks and drinks. Goodbye!
