Stormy Daniels has urged Melania Trump to ditch her husband Donald Trump – after 19 years of marriage – following the former president’s conviction in a secret trial.
“Should she leave him?” » asked the porn actor in an interview published Monday by the British newspaper Daily Mirror.
“Yeah,” replied Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford.
“On the grounds of?” he was then asked.
“He’s a convicted felon,” Daniels replied.
“That it turned out to be abusive.” “He was convicted of assault,” she added, referring to a civil jury that found Trump responsible for sexual assault last year after writer E. Jean Carroll accused him of raping her in a New York department store in the 1990s.
Trump is “an orange stain that’s going to be on me for a very long time,” Daniels lamented elsewhere during the lengthy session.
“It’s like a scarlet letter, but worse,” she said.
Trump had been “unchecked so far, but checkmate, motherfucker,” she added.
Last week, a jury found Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, guilty of all 34 criminal charges of falsifying business records to conceal a secret payment to Daniels before the 2016 election.
Trump sought to silence Daniels over an alleged sexual relationship between the two men in 2006, when Trump was married to Melania.
During the trial, Michael Cohen, a former Trump adviser and lawyer, testified that Trump feared the emergence of news of the Daniels would be a “disaster” for his 2016 campaign.
But when Cohen asked the then-Republican candidate how his wife Melania Trump might react, he reportedly replied: “Don’t worry. How long do you think I will be on the market? Not long.”
Trump will be sentenced on July 11, four days before the Republican National Convention.
