The popular Data Maven has signed an agreement with NBC which will expand its presence through the divisions of new and sports sports.
But the new contract does not include work for MSNBC, which is transformed into a new business entity formed by the mother company Comcast.
As part of the arrangement of the spin-off, MSNBC and NBC News separate their operations, the wired left-wing network building its own news collection unit. Kornacki chose to stay with NBC.
Kornacki, 45, will continue to be an essential NBC expert for the statistical analysis of surveys and elections results and during major sporting events, including Triple Crown horse races, the Olympic Games and the NFL.
It will appear in the NBC News streaming chain now with the franchises of the broadcast network “Meet the Press”, “TODAY” and “NBC Nightly News”.
A representative of NBC News confirmed the move on Tuesday. An MSNBC representative refused to comment on the release of Kornacki, but noted that the wired network hires more than 100 journalists in preparation for its separation from NBC News. Research is already underway for a new data guru.
On Tuesday, the network announced that the correspondent Antonia Hylton, who worked at NBC News and MSNBC, will join the full-time wired network and co-organized “The Weekend: Primetime” alongside Ayman Mohyeldin, the columnist of Washington Post Catherine Rampell and the Elise Jordan political analyst.
The Kornacki New Deal Deal, which makes him a NBC contributor with the title of chief data analyst, allows him to continue projects on other media networks and platforms as long as they are not linked to policy and sports.
He shot a game program pilot in 2022 and, as gender enthusiast, is likely to play a role of accommodation in the future.
Kornacki’s choice to leave MSNBC is a significant loss. He will be the second big talent on the air from the announcement of the spin-off. MSNBC dismissed the longtime host Joy Reid last month.

Kornacki’s deep dives in the survey numbers and voting results have become a signature ingredient in network political coverage, especially after having taken marathon hours in front of his tactile electoral college card when it took four days to call the 2020 presidential election for Joe Biden.
The real enthusiasm of Kornacki (and the Khaki pants of the brand of The Gap) have earned him a major suite on social networks, including celebrity fans Chrissy Teigen and Leslie Jones. In 2020, People magazine appointed him as one of his most sexy men. (“There was electoral fraud on that one,” he told Times in 2021).

Kornacki began to write about politics, which earned him a contributor work on CNN. He joined MSNBC in 2012 as a co-host of a panel program entitled “The Cycle” and was then part of the MSNBC range in the afternoon and weekends.
After Kornacki became a feeling of pop culture during the 2020 elections, NBC widened its role to sports in 2021.
As an analyst of horse racing, he chose the winner of 12-1 of Kentucky Derby during the cover of the race by the network. He also became a regular at NBC’s “football evening in America and the half-time report of“ Sunday Night Football ”and decomposed the counts of medals during its Olympic coverage.
