Steve Cohen talks about the Mets World Series window

The WBC had a storybook ending with two teammates and faces of the sport battling it out for the final.
History writes itself.
But now it’s time to turn the page on MLB’s regular season, which is just a week away.
The Mets and Yankees have tough decisions to make: Will Anthony Volpe or Brett Baty be selected?
It’s a big episode of “The Show” this week with Joel Sherman and Jon Heyman as Mets owner Steve Cohen joins the guys.
Podcast “The Show” with Joel Sherman and Jon Heyman:
- WBC FINAL: Couldn’t ask for a better ending with Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout going head-to-head for the final. Ohtani could become the most talented player to ever play baseball. With the WBC and rule changes, baseball is currently very popular around the world.
- VOLPE: Will Anthony Volpe make the Yankees Opening Day roster? He is too much of an asset to stay off the pitch.
- BATY: Is Brett Baty on the Mets Opening Day roster? He will play this season, but for the opener it may be difficult with Eduardo Escobar as a starter.
Interview with Steve Cohen:
Food owner
- UK: Shame to lose Edwin Diaz. The salary they receive can be used to potentially recruit someone else. If he comes back, it will be late. The event itself was incredible for baseball.
- MEETS SALARY: There is a limit for everyone. Inflation has been strong on superstar deals. They had to go out and add talent. If they have to add to the deadline to win, they will.
- THE OWNERS: I’ve had great conversations at owner meetings with other owners. They don’t all have to be buddies, they just have to be friendly and hang out together.
- WORLD SERIES TIMELINE: The stepfather is 92 and not many years old. I would love to win one for him.
