Stephen Colbert will not deliver Trump’s closing argument tonight

Donald Trump’s legal team presented its final conclusions on Tuesday. However, don’t expect to hear Stephen Colbert’s reaction to this historic day in court.

Former President Donald Trump spent weeks in a New York City courtroom facing charges related to an alleged hush money payment to Stormy Daniels. Trump’s antics inside and outside the trial made headlines, as he lashed out at the judge, reportedly fell asleep and listened to embarrassing details about his personal life being openly discussed.

But on Tuesday, his lawyers explained why the ex-president did nothing wrong. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert covered every major moment of Trump’s trial. Unfortunately, this streak ends Tuesday evening.

There will be no new episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert This evening. The show is on annual hiatus after Memorial Day. That means we won’t get a chance to hear Colbert’s take on the closing arguments…yet.

THE Late Show with Stephen Colbert expected to be out for the rest of the week. CBS will air reruns during the show’s normal time slot starting tonight and continuing through Friday.

Tuesday evening there will be a rebroadcast of the May 8 episode. Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki sat down for a chat. Elyanna appeared as a musical guest that evening.

To wait for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert expected to return on Monday June 3. The rest of late-night television is also expected to return that evening after a hiatus at the unofficial start of summer.

Colbert’s return in early June could mean he is discussing a verdict in the Donald Trump case. The jury will deliberate from Wednesday May 29. Depending on how quickly he makes a decision, he will be able to determine the content of Colbert’s monologue on Monday.
