The clock The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is checked, but it’s okay.
Stephen Colbert does not make jokes on President Donald Trump in the program on Monday, continuing to double the politician, less than two weeks after Colbert announced that the long-time end of evening talk show ends in May.
In an overview of Monday monologue published on Instagram, Colbert laughs at Trump’s declaration on Jeffrey Epstein, made at a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer: “By the way, I never went to the island,” said Trump. “I have never had the privilege of going to his island.”
“I’m sorry, what?” Colbert says, before entering an impression of Trump. “Unfortunately, I never had the honor of dinner with Jeffrey Dahmer.”
Trump’s full statement was that he refused an invitation from Epstein.
“I have never had the privilege of going to his island, and I refused it, but many people in Palm Beach were invited to his island,” said Trump, according to The New York Times. “In one of my very good times, I refused it.”
Epstein, who died by suicide in 2019, would have used the two private islands he had to make trafficking of minor girls for sex. Trump supporters and opponents call him to disclose all information about Epstein, who was friendly with the president for years. Colbert also pleased the reason why Trump said that he had finally separated from Epstein, from whom he would not speak after the American financier and the sex offender “did something that was inappropriate”.
Colbert says that finally, Trump had shown “a moral backbone”.
The show then cuts to Trump noting that Epstein “stole people” who worked for him.

Colbert imitates Trump again: “Sorry, Jeff”, he quips. “The sexual traffic of minors is one thing. But I draw the line on you by stealing my omelet, okay? He is the only one who knows that I like ham.”
Trump also explained that he had told Epstein not to hire people far from him, but Epstein did it, according to the Times.
“And I threw him out of the place, persona non grata,” said Trump. “I threw it, and that’s all.”

Since his show was canceled, Colbert – and other hosts at the end of the night – roasted the president even more than usual. In return, Trump said it was “really good” to see Colbert leaving, and he hopes he “played a major role”.
Without offering evidence, he said that “the word is” that Jimmy Kimmel, then Jimmy Fallon would also be ousted from the end of the night.
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert Airs of weekdays at 11:35 p.m. He / PT on CBS.
