The large recipient Stefon Diggs met the media as a member of the Patriots for the first time Friday and his new quarter-arre was a first subject of conversation during his press conference.
Drake Maye had a good season recruited in New England and showed the ability to play with his arm and legs for a team of patriots who lacked players. Diggs played with another quarter-rear who had similar skills when he was in Buffalo and the name of Josh Allen appeared when Diggs was asked about his reflections on Maye.
“I’m excited,” said Diggs. “I really can’t wait to be there. It’s crazy because when you ask around him, he has a lot of similarities – people say through the vineyard, he acts a lot like Josh. It was my guy, so I can’t wait to meet and connect with him.”
Diggs was also asked what role he thinks he can play in Maye’s continuous development as a NFL player.
“See that I I have the experienceI have been doing this for ten and a half years – I still add half now – but I have played with a lot of quarters, “said Diggs.” I have been in a lot of quarters, so learn the quarter-back, know him, spend more time with him. Once you know someone at a more personal level, I have the impression that it is a lot of postponement in the field, whether it is risk takers or that I like to play aggressive, to play intelligently and to perfect what is good. We played it last year. It shows a lot of fight. He obtained this ardent quarter, “I want to win”. It’s something that fascinates me and that I like to be around. But, with regard to its development as a quarterrier, I have the impression that it is not really too much of my work. My job is to get started and catch the ball. I can’t wait to come back there and be one of the weapons for him. »»
Diggs noted that he was in rhythm for around 100 catches and 1,000 reception yards when he torn his ACL halfway from last season before saying that he was impatient to “get back on the right track”. If it looks like the Diggs who played with Allen in Buffalo, the patriots’ offensive should be much better in 2025.
