In a defensive duel, the Steelers hold a 9-3 halftime lead over the Browns in the Week 6 AFC North showdown.
The Steelers took a 9-0 lead after Chris Boswell made all three of his field goal attempts in the first half. Boswell’s kicks were largely set up by timely completions from Aaron Rodgers and a running game that went for a respectable 46 yards on 13 carries against the NFL’s top-ranked run defense. The Browns, however, forced the Steelers to settle for field goals, after making a few big stops on third down.
Led by rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel, the Browns offense did virtually nothing for most of the first half before finally putting up a score late in the half. Gabriel, looking to help the Browns end their 21-year regular-season winless drought in Pittsburgh, went 13 of 18 for 92 yards in the first half. He was sacked three times by the Steelers’ aggressive defense.
