Steelers are “comfortable” with Mason Rudolph as Starter

Steelers may or may not have Aaron Rodgers as a quarterrier leaving in 2025. They continue to wait for the quadruple MVP to make a decision on its future with No deadline in place.

Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson are currently the only quarters on the list.

The director general of the Steelers, Omar Khan, said on Monday that it was a “safe hypothesis” that the team will add a veteran quarterrier, whether Rodgers or someone else.

If it is not Rodgers who joins the list, it is possible that Rudolph could be the quarterrier leaving in 2025.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said he would be “comfortable” with Rudolph as a starter.

“This is why we brought him back,” said Tomlin, via Brooke Pryor d’Espn. “”I’m comfortable with that. We have already been there. He’s a very competent guy.

Khan said he had “much confidence” in Rudolph, who had signed an agreement of $ 7.5 million over two years with the Steelers after spending a season in Tennessee.

“We needed a need for this position, as you know, and it was available and was interested in returning,” said Khan. “Our experience with Mason was relatively positive, so it made sense.”

Rudolph was only 1-4 in five starts with the Titans last season, but his best passage arrived in 2023 with the Steelers. He won three consecutive departures to put an end to the regular season before a defeat in the playoffs, launching five affected and an interception in the four games and on average 236 yards by the pass.

“Whenever you feel something with someone, there is growth and I recognize it in this regard,” said Tomlin. “Admittedly, the way he smiled at adversity and delivered for us was significant, but not that I was shocked or I did not think that it was in his context or his capacities. We are delighted to see him again, not only in terms of talents but of the guy he is. He is a very good teammate. He is a very good football.”

The Steelers would certainly take Rodgers to Rudolph, which is why they continue to wait for a response from Rodgers. But they seem to prepare for Rudolph to start if it happens.

Despite the turnover in the quarter position, with six -quarters of different starters, the Steelers have made the playoffs four of the last five seasons.
