Springsteen fans roast Trump for bizarrely bragging about New Jersey crowd size

If Donald Trump tries to woo New Jersey, he has a strange strategy.

At a rally on the boardwalk in Wildwood, New Jersey, on Saturday, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee bragged that his crowd was bigger than a Bruce Springsteen concerts, shows that regularly sell out in stadiums that can fill tens of thousands of people.

He also claimed that Springsteen, a very public ally of President Joe Biden, “actually” voted for Trump and was a favorite to win New Jersey in November, despite the state being a Democratic stronghold since Clinton’s election. time.

A spokesperson for the city of Wildwood supported Trump’s assertion.

Lisa Fagan told the Associated Press that she estimated the crowd must have been between 80,000 and 100,000 people, based on her observations of smaller events that took place in the same space.

But the footage from the rally made those statistics pretty hard to believe.

As Trump fans filled the rafters behind him, the video showed an awkwardly sparse crowd in front of the former president — an audience that grew even thinner as his more than 90-minute speech dragged on.

Springsteen fans easily verified Trump’s jubilations by sharing clips from The Boss’ packed concerts at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, which has a capacity of 82,500.

Still, more and more people were wondering why Trump would fight with Springsteen, who is a veritable god to the people of the Garden State.

In 2020, the “Born to Run” singer urged voters to help end Trump’s tenure in the Oval Office, calling the 45th president’s first term a “fucking nightmare” for America.
