Sassuolo will speak to Juventus about the sale of Italian midfielder Manuel Locatello, Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali has confirmed.
It was a memorable summer for Locatelli, who was part of the Italian squad that won Euro 2020.
Arsenal were linked with him before the tournament started, but interest in the 23-year-old grew as he impressed for the national team.
It looks like Juve are winning the race to sign, but Sassuolo will only sell at the right price.
“Tomorrow we will have direct contact with Juventus for Locatelli,” Carnevali told Sky Sport Italia, via Goal, on Thursday.
“He wants to join Juve. We would be happy to sell Manuel to Juve… but they have to pay the right fees.
Despite Locatelli’s clear preference, it’s not just Juve and Arsenal who want to sign him.
“Arsenal have made an offer to sign him and a new English club are also in the running,” Carnevali added.
Time is of the essence when it comes to a deal with Locatelli, as Sassuolo wants all transfers of key players to be completed by August 8.
Speaking of Domenico Berardi, who has also been linked with an estrangement from Sassuolo, Carnevali said: “We are not selling any of our celebrity names after August 8.”
“Domenico Berardi is our best player, we want to keep him.
“If an offer came, we would take it into consideration and talk to the player, but we won’t sell anyone until August.”
