Jack Wilshere jokingly called to pick me up from former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.
Wenger has been out of office since leaving the Gunners at the end of the 2017/18 season, while Wilshere has been without a club since the summer.
With the two currently at some end, Drive presenter Gordon Smart has suggested they could reunite in Newcastle.
There have been huge changes in the northeast, with the Saudi takeover of Newcastle finally coming to an end last week.
It is widely reported that the club’s new senior officers do not view Steve Bruce as the long-term manager, leading to a number of names linked to his job.
Smart suggested Wenger could be a candidate for the job and Wilshere claimed the Frenchman could make him his first signing!
Wilshere told Drive: “He would make them play good football, he would want to recruit players – maybe me!”
However, Wilshere believes Wenger and Newcastle might not be suitable.
He added: “This is the first time I’ve heard of it, I’m not sure he’s the right man to fight a relegation battle and keep them going.
“He’s a great manager, but he’s always managed at the top of the league so I’m not sure he would be the right fit.
