A fourth film “Spider-Man” is in preparation, with Tom Holland to resume his role as a holder web.
Holland made his debut in Marvel as Peter Parker / Spider-Man in “Captain America: Civil War” in 2016.
He has since taken up the role of “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame”, in addition to three autonomous films made by Jon Watts: “Spider-Man: Homecoming” (2017), “Spider-Man: Far from Home” (2019) and “Spider-Man: No Way Home” (2021).
Now Holland is preparing to put on the Spidey costume for another suite, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton.
Here is what we know so far.

Before the release of “No Way Way Home” on December 15, 2021, Pascal told Fandango that it would not be “the last film Spider-Man”. Instead, Sony and Marvel Studios would continue to work together.
“We are preparing to make the next film” Spider-Man “with Tom Holland and Marvel,” she said. “We consider this to be three films, and now we are going to move on to the following three. This is not the last of our MCU films.”
Then, in an interview published after “No Way Home” made theaters, the president of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, confirmed to the New York Times that a fourth film “Spider-Man” was actively in development.
“Amy and me and Disney and Sony talk – yes, we are actively starting to develop where history then goes, which I say only because I do not want fans to undergo separation trauma like what happened after” “”, “said Feige.
Five months later, Sony president Tom Rothman told Deadline that he was optimistic that the studio would soon be starting to work on the film, let’s hope it with Watts, Holland and all the Zendaya (MJ Watson).

The subject of the next “Spider-Man” was inevitable throughout the press tour for “The Crowded Room”, an Apple TV + 2023 mini-series with Holland.
Being as vague as possible about the fourth film of an interview with the opposite in June, Holland said that there were “current things” of which he was “excited”.
“Whether it is materialized or not, who knows?” He said. “But right now, it looks pretty good, and we will just have to wait and see.”
The actor shared similar reflections in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. Holland said that the development of the film is a “collaboration process” and that meetings occurred before the strike of Hollywood writers in 2023 started, delaying production.
“The first meetings were on” Why were we going to start again? “And I think we found the reason why,” he said. “I am really, really satisfied with the place where we are in terms of creation.”
Holland said that it was also “a little worried” to pay again.
“There is a little stigma on the fourth in all franchises,” he said. “I have the impression that we hit a home run with our first franchise and there is a part of me who wants to start my head high and pass the stick to the next kid who can give life to this character.”
Holland was more optimistic about the project during an appearance on “The Rich Roll Podcast” in October 2024.
“He needs work, but the writers are doing a great job,” said Holland about the script. “I read it three weeks ago and it really lit a fire in me. Zendaya and I seated and read it, and we, sometimes, bounce back into the living room, like:” It is a real film worthy of respect for fans. “”

Aside from the return of the Dutch, no other actor was officially announced by Marvel or Sony, but the fans hope that Zendaya and Jacob Batalon will resume their roles of MJ and Ned, respectively.
In March 2025, Deadline reported that Sadie Sink, who played the role of Max Mayfield in “Stranger Things” by Netflix, would be part of the fourth film “Spider-Man”.
We do not know who could play, but depending on her hair color, people immediately supposed that she could portray the character X-Men Gray. The mutant was previously represented by Famke Janssen and Sophie Turner.
Sink played shy when he asked him questions about the rumor of casting during an interview for the Podcast “Happy Sad Confused” by Josh Horowitz.
“This is news for me,” said Sink.
“The rumors are really cool,” she said when she supported further. “He’s a great character!”

The shooting begins this summer in the United Kingdom.
Cretton, which previously produced “Shang-Chi de Marvel and the legend of the ten rings”, shared some additional details on the film during the Sony panel in Cinemacon at the end of March 2025.
“I spend my time exploring the next stage of this incredible character with a team of the most incredible artists in the world,” said Cretton. “We are all just daily, by leaving the costume, how to swing, how to create an event, an emotional story and a ride that we have not really seen before.”
Holland, who could not attend the convention because he filmed “The Odyssey” with Christopher Nolan, recorded a video for the participants and revealed that the fourth film will be called “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”.
“I know that we left you a massive cliffhanger at the end of” No Way Home “, so” Spider-Man: Brand New Day “is a new start,” he said. “That’s exactly it. That’s all I can say.”
The fourth film Spidey will be released in theaters in July 2026, after the release of “Avengers: Doomsday” in May of the same year.
It is a story in development. Come back for updates.
