Since 1991, the Catalunya-Barcelona circuit has hosted the Spanish race and often pre-season testing, leading to speculation that it is now obsolete.

However, this year’s edition follows a series of exciting races which saw three other teams battle it out with Max Verstappen and Red Bull to claim another double title.

The Dutchman managed to defeat the McLarens and Mercedes in a dramatic event in Montreal before the final break.

However, Lando Norris beat Verstappen to claim pole in a dramatic qualifying, with Lewis Hamilton crossing the line in third.

Spanish Grand Prix: what did we say?

Liam Lawson still finds himself without motivation ahead of 2025 and told talkSPORT that while Red Bull remains the target, he is prepared to look elsewhere to secure his future.

He said: “Everything is changing at the moment because there are a lot of riders moving around so I don’t really know where I stand and if I’m doing it at all.

“But it’s something I’m working on every day right now.”

As for whether he would walk away from his current team for an opportunity elsewhere, Lawson joked: “You know, I can’t answer that question!

“Honestly, at the end of the day I would love to be with Red Bull and Formula 1, it’s the strongest team at the moment and it’s my sixth year with Red Bull.

“So if I could choose I would love to be at Red Bull, but obviously there are no seats there and my goal is Formula 1, so it could be anywhere.”
