Start the countdown – SpaceX will launch the Maxar 1 mission into orbit from Space Launch Complex 4 East at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California on Thursday, May 2, with a 14-minute window for launch opening at 11:36 a.m. .
If necessary, a backup launch opportunity will be available at the same time on Friday, May 3.
About eight minutes after liftoff, the Falcon 9 first stage will land at SpaceX Landing Zone 4 in Vandenberg and it is possible that residents of Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Ventura counties will hear one or more more sonic booms during landing.
Noise will depend on weather and other conditions.
