Sovereignty wins 2025 Belmont Stakes, beats journalism in the last stage of the triple crown

Sovereignty won the 157th Belmont Stakes on Saturday, finishing right in front of favorite journalism to win another gem of the triple crown.

Rodriguez led in the first stadiums before journalism storm after halfway, but sovereignty used a late kick and left no doubt when he moved away from the peloton in the last section.

This year’s race was once again run on track 1 1 1 / 4th mile at Saratoga Race Race, with Belmont Park being renovated. The race taking place in Saratoga meant that a slightly shorter distance was made than the typical issues of Belmont.

Since sovereignty – the winner of Kentucky Derby every month – has not run in Preakness this year, a Title Crown was out of the table towards the final jewel. The last time a horse captured the triple crown, it was in 2018 during the justification of its place in history.

Payments (depending on $ 2 bet)

Earn: Sovereignty; $ 7 Victory, $ 3.20, $ 2.30 show

Place: Journalism; $ 3.20 place, $ 2.30 show

The challenges of Belmont on Saturday almost reflected Kentucky Derby this year, although the conditions of the Saratoga racing course were much better than those of a rainy churchill downs.

Like Kentucky Derby, journalism freed itself at the end of the race and seemed to be on the way for a victory, but sovereignty had just enough kicks to take the lead at the last moment. Baeza also finished third on Saturday, the same result he had in Kentucky Derby.

Sovereignty had the chance to make history, but his coach, Bill Mott, rather chose to jump The Preakness Stakes last month and focus on the challenges of Belmont.

Although this decision was able to be a surprise at the time, it borne fruit on Saturday.
