Columbia, SC (AP) – The triple jersey n ° 22 of the WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson was hung in the rafters on Sunday in Colonial Life Arena, its collegial field which already includes a statue of the top scorer of all program time outside the main entrance.
Wilson spent the weekend around coach Dawn Staley and the current group of gamecocks players, who Beat Auburn 83-66. Wilson thanked his teammates, coaches and fans.
“It is a privilege to be a gamecock, to be part of this community,” she said.
Wilson smothered by thanking his parents. “I hope I make you proud,” she said.
A banner with South Carolina, n ° 22 and her name is located next to the banner of the NCAA Wilson championship helped win eight years ago.
She was invaded by the current gamecocks players, who wore heating shirts with Wilson’s number on them, when she left the field.
