San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, was taken to hospital after a medical incident in a restaurant on Tuesday evening, but is now at home and is fine, a source said on Friday in Espn Shams Charania.
Popovich, 76, had a soft blow in November and missed the rest of the NBA season.
According to TMZ, who first pointed out the medical incident, Popovich was placed on a stretcher and taken to the hospital with what the officials said they were an injury or an illness not putting his life in danger. Sources told TMZ that Popovich was alert when he entered the ambulance.
Popovich is the most victorious coach of the NBA with 1,412 regular season wins and 170 others in the playoffs to go with five championships. On November 2, he suffered from what the team called a “soft blow” before a match against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Popovich had an emotional meeting with Spurs players on February 27, and he published a statement at that time that he would not officially return this season but hopes to return to the future.
“I will continue to focus on my health in the hope of being able to return to training in the future,” said its press release.
Sources told ESPN at the time that the future of Popovich’s NBA was uncertain.
The temple of fame, which has led to the Spurs since the 1996-1997 season, was 76 years old in January and is the oldest coach in the NBA history. He accepted a five -year contract extension with the team in 2023.
