Sofia Richie and Elliot Grainge welcome their first child

Today, Sofia Richie added “mom” to her long list of titles, which includes model, singer and television personality.

Yes, that’s right, congratulations are in order for the socialite and her husband, Elliot Grainge, as they welcomed their first child together. The couple announced the arrival of their little bundle of joy, a daughter named Eloise Samantha Grainge, on Instagram.

“Eloise Samantha Grainge 🤍5•20•24 best day ever🤍,” Richie captioned his post.

Richie was looking forward to the big day. She took to her Instagram on May 6 to share a photo of her baby bump, in which she wore her usual luxe basics, including a white tank top, matching button-down shirt and cream-colored pants, with the caption: “9 month of happiness.”

The 25-year-old officially announced she was expecting in an interview with Vogue, published on January 25. “I found out very, very early on,” Richie Grainge told the publication. “I was about four weeks pregnant. I was traveling to Milan for fashion week and going to the Prada show. I was doing a very fast 24 hour turnaround and felt terrible, but didn’t think much of it. I thought it was the jet lag.

Richie explained that when she returned from Italy, she took a pregnancy test before an Ed Sheeran concert. This was not unusual, as she and the music director had been trying to get pregnant since they got married in April 2023; the couple tied the knot in a beautiful fairytale wedding in Antibes, France, after two years of dating.

“I kind of knew it was going to be a drunken night, and I was a few days late on my period, and I wanted to be generally safe, so I took a test,” she recalled. “Elliot was already used to me doing random tests. So he didn’t really flinch when I said I was checking. I was taking one of those really crappy tests at home, and there was the slightest line. I was so used to seeing negatives that I knew when something looked different.

A week after Richie confirmed her pregnancy, on February 2, she debuted her growing belly on the red carpet at Warner Music Group’s pre-Grammy party. She gave a low-key twist to maternity style in an off-the-shoulder ink black jacket that she left half unbuttoned at the bottom, teamed with matching tailored pants, slingback heels, a leather handbag , a stack of diamond bracelets, and gold earrings.

During the same Vogue interview, Richie opened up about her pregnancy style and shared that she tries to keep her sleek style consistent. “I don’t really use maternity clothes, I just size up. I’m also not buying a whole new wardrobe for this pregnancy. I bought a few pants in larger sizes, but I wear my same jackets, sweaters, and trench coats. Richie added: “I’m about to have some fun with it now that I can spread my wings.” and steal.”
