Social media star Phil Foden’s five-year-old son Ronnie is filmed trying to open a bottle of champagne after his father’s team Man City won the league.

After winning a Premier League title, it’s only natural to pop the champagne – but for the five-year-old son of Manchester City star midfielder Phil Foden, the cork proved a little too tricky .

Photographers have captured the moment youngster Ronnie Foden attempts – thankfully unsuccessfully – to join the celebrations after Manchester City won an unprecedented fourth successive Premier League title on Sunday.

The Sky Blues surged to victory after sweeping past West Ham in a 3-1 win.

There were wild scenes at the final whistle as jubilant supporters stormed the Etihad Stadium pitch and flares were thrown outside pubs as City won six league titles in seven seasons.

Sensational invincibility of 23 games extinguished Arsenal’s hopes of winning their first Premier League title since the Gunners’ Invincible season of 2003/04 as Mikel Arteta’s side missed out by two points.

Photographers captured the moment five-year-old Ronnie Foden attempted to open a bottle of champagne as his dad Phil celebrated with his Manchester City teammates after their historic win on Sunday afternoon.

Staying put: Despite his best efforts, little Ronnie fortunately couldn't remove the cork from the bottle, despite being 13 years under the legal drinking age.

While the team hugged and waved to the fans in the stadium, little Ronnie, dressed in his Manchester City kit, was on the pitch doing his best to remove the cork.

At one point, he even pushed the bottle to the ground, but despite his best efforts, the cap stayed in place – perhaps for the best given that he is 13 years away from legally drinking it.

Ronnie had already held his talented father’s hand as 23-year-old Phil Foden emerged from the tunnel at the start of the exhilarating match.

After the final whistle, he was seen again standing proudly next to the winners’ trophy, alongside his father, an England player, his mother Rebecca Cooke and his younger sister, True.

Last month, the Manchester City midfielder and his childhood sweetheart announced they were expecting their third child together.

Although only five years old, Ronnie has become something of a social media sensation, gaining four million followers on Instagram and becoming a millionaire himself.

The eldest English footballer is also a talent manager, landing brand collaborations for the account managed by his parents.

Through his parents, the youngster has partnered with Propel Talent Group, a company which claims to manage “the careers of some of the UK’s most sought-after talents”, focusing on “digital talent”.

While some of the posts on Ronnie’s account are adorable snaps of him on the football field with his famous dad, others show him alone, posing in stylish outfits.

Ronnie’s parents created the account after a meme of the little one went viral featuring him nicknamed ‘El Wey’ or ‘The Dude’ following Manchester City’s Champions League triumph over Inter Milan in Istanbul in last June.

He became an unofficial team mascot thanks to cute photos of him with his father on the pitch and a selfie with Erling Haaland in the locker room.

He was on Foden’s shoulders when Jack Grealish sang 90s dance classic Freed from Desire de Gala for Rodri in a clip which was posted online.

“His personality made him who he is. I think it went quite viral after (we) won the Champions League. He just reminds me of myself when I was a kid and he’s very funny,” Foden told Sky Sports News.
