Social media reacts to Trump being allowed to attend Barron’s graduation
Tuesday marked the best and worst of times for Donald Trump – or at least that’s the joke circulating on social media.
Judge Juan Merchan officially allowed the former president to attend the high school graduation of his youngest child, Barron, on May 17, announcing that the court in Trump’s secret trial would not sit that day. there.
Merchan didn’t sign off early because he said he needed to see how the trial was going — a statement the Trump family turned into right-wing outrage.
Former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen ridiculed the tizzy by pointing out that he wasn’t sure if his former client had ever attended his other children’s graduations, adding: “I’m sure Melania is extremely excited that he’s not here.”
However, social media users pointed out that Merchan’s decision is good news for Trump in that he will be able to attend his son’s graduation, as well as bad news in that he is now actually expected to attend her son’s graduation.
Naturally, people on X, formerly Twitter, suggested that Trump should be careful what he wishes for, while expressing sympathy for his son.
Poor Barron. Donald will now have to attend his graduation.
I think he won’t be happy that his classmates are stealing his thunder while Trump makes their graduation all about him.
Or ask them to tell the story of how dad cheated on his mom when she was pregnant with… pic.twitter.com/18OYgGpyFU

Now that the judge has told Donald Trump he doesn’t have to be in court on his son Barron’s graduation, the only thing stopping him from attending is his narcissistic refusal to recognize the achievements of anyone but himself. pic.twitter.com/BF1TFmuo3g

Judge Merchan granted Trump’s request to attend Barron’s May 17 graduation because he says the trial is moving quickly.
I’ll bet you ten dollars that Trump skips graduation and plays golf instead. Any takers?

Honestly, the judge forcing Trump to attend Barron’s graduation is probably worse for him than the $9,000 fine for contempt.

The judge lets Trump go to Barron’s graduation, which is definitely the last thing he wanted because he can’t complain anymore and now he actually has to go. 😂

Now Trump has to attend Barron’s graduation.
Be careful what you wish for.
He will do everything for himself.

Judge Merchan: You can go to Barron’s graduation.
Trump: Wait, who? Shit! Are you sure?
