Barbara Lee served her district for the congress, but it was now a time when Oakland desperately needs new leadership, young and enlightened according to the pressing realities facing our city.
The mayor’s work is to operate the city, to repair the significant budget deficit, to repair the streets, to solve the problem of the homeless and to make Oakland considered a safe city to live and do business.
This is not the time for something like a committee of congress or calls of hope and think that others will give us money to put our house in order. We need leadership that is not responsible for special interests. We need leadership focused on Oakland and what must be done so that the Oakland government works for us.
We need Loren Taylor at work.

Re: “Transit Bill to obtain another road test” (page A1, March 24).
It is surprising that the California Legislative Assembly proposed a bill to establish a new sales tax for public transport systems in the Bay region. This ancient public transport system has never tried to get rid of the massive duplication of services, which promotes excessive costs.
The bill requires tax approval without any audit to correspond to current operational expenses with unknown tax revenues. Unfortunately, Bart continued to fight against a transparent audit that identifies the existing operational costs.
Vote no on any increased proposal from the sales tax until the Metropolitan Transportation District reveals the transit expenditure in the bay region and future tax needs with an audit. Transparency and responsibility must occur. Things that remain the same do not change.

Re: “Voters should stop the last increase in acalanes taxes” (page A6, March 25).
I respectfully disagree with the editorial on the issue of a parcel tax for the acalanes school district.
My children graduated from Campolindo high school. They obtained an excellent education and took AP courses and were able to obtain their diploma early from the university. They all work now.
I believe that to keep a good teaching staff, we have to pay them decent wages. When my children were in high school, teachers’ remuneration was lower than a Bart customer service agent had done.
It is a choice between educating your children or not. It is the future of the country.

Re: “Do not blame Trail for Richmond-San Rafael Backup” (page A6, March 26).
Given the author that the article is misleadingly misleading is reasonable.
Mr. Prinz is certainly right in his assertion that walkers and bikers who use the “trail” on the bridge are not responsible for the congestion of traffic. The closure of a traffic route to mainly give bikers and recreational walkers a “path” is however a major contributor. The backup instead of toll is largely the result of the compression of four lanes in two. A third way would considerably reduce congestion.
I tire of actions “to feel well” of the legislators to reward the few at the expense of many. In this case, the very rare (in infrequent crossings – I perhaps see 10 users over the whole period) at the expense of the very large part.

I called the Senator’s office Alex Padilla, DC, to often express my concerns about the current federal administration, to have a frustrating limitation – a 30 -second voicemail cut. Worse, the weekend, I can’t leave a message at all. When I call the Senator Adam Schiff’s office, I do not meet these questions.
I brought this to the attention of the San Francisco de Padilla office, and they attributed it to the volume of the calls they receive. However, if the Schiff office manages to welcome the appellants without these restrictions, why can Padilla not?
Voters deserve open communication lines with their elected officials. Access to voicemail is a crucial means for citizens to express their concerns, especially for those who cannot call during opening hours. I exhort Padilla to solve this problem and to ensure that all Californians have an equal opportunity to make their voices heard.

Re: “Crews Clear Rockslide early, reopening a key route” (page B1, March 27).
This article aimed to clean up access to Yosemite using a complex process for removing hundreds of tons of rocks, drones to take detailed images and an aerial elevator with workers extending to 130 feet while others recalled cliffs.
Detailed maneuvers have discussed the areas of rocks and unstable stones to excise. You will have to read the article to find out more about the “I want to think about” strategy that has been used. After having expressed the trains and rocks detritus, they clean, finish road works and open the highway.
News relate to geology, technology, strategy, cooperation, skills and calendar. A photo and a card illustrate the scope. My favorite sentence: “The Yosemite region is not unrelated to active geology.” What a DULL EPULMISM.
I love this story. You can print it on a flag and suspend it in salvation with impeccable journalism and a successful business – civilization to its best.
