A snooker star admitted that he was “too lazy” to change his “unique” style of play after reaching the second round of the world championship.
Luca Brecel, a former world champion, organized an impressive return against Ryan Day to retaliate from 5-1 in her first match in The Crucible on Thursday evening.
He took a slow start to the match, dragging by four in the first session on Wednesday before winning the last three images to reduce the deficit to one to 5-4 for the break in the draw.
Day broke 101 as part of Thursday to return two again, but Belgian Brecel was dominant from there, finally winning 10-7 to install a second round and the last confrontation with Ding Junhui.
It was a game from top to bottom for the No. 7 seeded Bercel, the 30 -year -old sometimes missing important fire, but also offering spectacular efforts.
He opened on the match thereafter, saying that he knew he would win when he had two executives – but that he will not change the way he approaches the games, despite this approach which sometimes costs him.
A snooler star admitted that he was “ too lazy ” to change his style of play after a dramatic victory in the world championship

Luca Brecel, a former world champion, passed the Ryan day in the first round in the crucible

He admitted that he had confidence in his game during the match, but said that he “would go home” if “everything is not working”
“I panicked,” said Breel about his first performance. “I came back from a deficit here before and 3-5, I already felt that I could no longer lose.
“I don’t want to be disrespectful, we all know what day is capable of. But it seemed very nervous and I was very relaxed.
“It’s a bit of all or nothing. This is the way I play and I am too lazy to change this.
“My style of play is unique. It can’t be called boring. There is no plan B. With my way of playing, everything must work. And if it doesn’t work, I go home.
The 18th executive turned out to be crucial, the two players needing the black ball to win a victory that would have seen daytime things at 8-8 or Brecel move 9-7.
Day put the picking, giving Breecel the advantage, and the Welshman had trouble going from there.
“Even with an advance of 5-1, I looked over my shoulder and I was not expecting it,” he said after the match. “I just am not too confident and I am certainly not the player that I was in the past.
“I introduce myself and play and try. I have done it for a long time, so it is obviously much closer to the end than the start. I would have fought as I played if it had been a few years ago, but I reconciled myself.
“I always like competition, I just don’t have the game I had. As long as I am on tour, I will always play and I will earn my life. I need to try to do something different (in matches) but I don’t see that my game really improves.
