A Smokey lawyer Robinson said Wednesday evening that allegations of sexual assault against the singer of Motown were “vile” and “false” and that a trial brought by the four women making accusations was an attempt to extract millions of dollars from him.
Women have worked as the governings of Mr. Robinson, and their trial accuses him of abusing them dozens of times. The costume, which identifies women only as Jane is 1 to 4, says that Mr. Robinson has raped them several times while his wife, Frances, who is co-accused, closed his eyes.
In a statement provided to the New York Times, Mr. Robinson’s lawyer, Christopher Frost, described the costume “a ugly method to try to extract money from an 85 -year -old American icon”.
“We ask anyone who follows this case to reserve a judgment because the evidence is revealed and that all the real facts of the case take place,” said Mr. Frost.
The trial, which was filed Tuesday before the Los Angeles Superior Court, indicates that three of the women feared reporting Mr. Robinson to the authorities because of their immigration status. “As low -wage workers in vulnerable posts, they did not have the resources and options necessary to protect themselves from sexual assault throughout their mandate as an employee for Robinsons,” said their lawyer on Tuesday John Harris.
The trial goes into the graphic details of abuse complaints.
Mr. Robinson, according to that, would deposit his wife in a manicure lounge and rushed to the house to attack one of the women while she was alone in the house of Robinsons in Chatworth, a district of Los Angeles.
A second woman, said the trial, was sexually assaulted at least 23 times during the six years she worked for the Robinsons, from 2014 to 2020.
The costume indicates that a third woman, who worked for the Robinsons from 2012 to 2024, was sexually assaulted at least 20 times. The fourth complainant, who says that she worked for the couple from 2006 to April 2024, said that she had been sexually assaulted by Mr. Robinson at Maison Chatsworth and in several of her other houses.
Women’s lawyers have not declared whether their clients intended to continue criminal charges. A spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Department of the County of Los Angeles, who covers the area where the trial notes that the attacks had taken place, said that it had not opened an investigation.
In his declaration, Mr. Frost said that he and his legal team would soon ask a judge to reject the trial and “would have more to say about this issue”.
Mr. Robinson and the musical group he directed, the miracles, was the royalty of Motown, writing and performing some of the greatest successes in the catalog of the record company.
