Sleeping Don – The Washington Post

At the start of Trump’s criminal trial in Manhattan, the court needed 12 jurors and six alternates — but that number was often rejected, for a range of reasons, some mundane and some surprising. So far, seven have been sworn in, including a foreman.

Additionally, the dynamic between Trump’s lawyers, Judge Juan Merchan and the former president himself is becoming tense, with Merchan sternly warning Trump not to gesture or speak to potential jurors.

And does Trump sometimes have trouble staying awake? Washington Post national security and law enforcement reporter Devlin Barrett – author of our sister newsletter, The Trump Trials – joins the team to reveal what covering the trial is like from inside the courthouse.
